I am interested in the non-equilibrium dynamics of quantum many-body systems. In particular, my main focus is on the dynamics of two significant subclasses: systems described by integrable models and those described by weakly non-integrable models. The former are of great interest to study the effects of integrability on the dynamics of local observables (and the stationary values they reach), and because fully analytical approaches can be applied. The latter instead are even more intriguing: observables show a crossover between an integrable-like dynamics, governed by the underlying integrable model, and a non-integrable one (“prethermalization”). The characteristic time for this crossover being determined by the integrability breaking.
