Lorenzo Piroli wins the ERC Starting Grant

We are extremely proud to announce one of our alumni, Lorenzo Piroli, has been awarded a prestigious ERC starting grant 2023 (see the list of winners here)

Lorenzo Piroli is currently an assistant professor (Ricercatore di tipo B) at the University of Bologna after two postdocs at the Ecole Normale Superieure in Paris and at the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics. After receiving a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in physics at the University of Pisa and Scuola Normale Superiore, he completed his Ph.D. at the International School of Advanced Studies (SISSA) in the group of Statistical Physics, under the supervision of Prof. Pasquale Calabrese in 2018.

Congratulations to Lorenzo Piroli! He has demonstrated exceptional talent in his field and is an inspiring example for all young physicists.
